Any cake ordered based on a photograph of a cake made by another cake maker, can only be reproduced as our interpretation and will not be an exact replica of the cake in question.

The colour of your cake order will be matched as closely as possible to the design agreed. However, it may not be identical to those displayed online. Any photographs displayed on our website or on our social media channels are a guide only and the final cake design may vary slightly to these.

All modelling paste figurines, models and toppers are handmade on our premises. These are not manufactured and may sometimes vary slightly to those displayed online.

In some extremely rare cases it may be necessary to slightly change or vary a design from what has been agreed, as specific cake decorating items may become unavailable/discontinued from our suppliers.

If this occurs, we will ensure a substitute replacement is found with an equally or better quality product.

Some cake designs contain nonedible items and decorations, such as broaches, ribbons, flowers etc.

Sugar paste/modelling paste figurines and floral cake toppers may also contain wire, wooden skewers, crystals, or beads which should not be eaten. It will be your/your caterer’s responsibility to remove these, as appropriate, before serving your cake.

All cake orders are made fresh on the premises with the highest quality ingredients.

All fruit cakes contain nuts, or traces of nuts and sulphur. Every effort is taken to keep any ingredients separate, however please be aware that although your cake order may not be made with nuts or a nut product, it will be prepared in a kitchen where nuts may be frequently used. We cannot be held responsible for any ingredient contaminated at source and we do not accept any liability for any damage to health or any distress caused to you by the consumption of such products.

1. Cakes are always boxed for transportation. 
2. We advise cakes to be placed on a level, steady surface for transport  in a clean, clear space in the boot of your car, on non-slip matting. We are happy to place the cake safely in the car for you if required. The cake should then be stored in the box at room temperature and out of direct sunlight.
   If you do not collect the cake when agreed, it will only be available to collect later at a time that is suitable for us. Failure to turn up for the collection at the agreed time may result in you not being able to have the cake on the day that was arranged.

c. Any changes to the pre-agreed collection time must be confirmed in writing at least 48 hours before collection and cannot be guaranteed.

1. It is recommended that cakes are not transported by the customer for journeys greater than 60 minutes.
   On particularly warm days (i.e. over 18 degrees), this could fall to as low as 15 minutes for some cakes. Please ask us for advice if you require it.
2. we are NOT liable or responsible for the cake once it has left our premises. We do everything  to provide a well-structured cake, but please note that cakes are very fragile and break easily. Drive carefully and slowly, approach bends with caution and never transport cakes on passenger’s laps.
3. The Bakery is not responsible for any damages to the cake after set up is complete. You are responsible for providing an appropriate, secure table and environment for the cake. Cakes require a sturdy table and stand. We are not responsible for damages due to temperature or weather. Optimal room temperature is 23°C or below.

5. Alterations to bespoke cakes

1. We are happy to make alterations to your bespoke cake design and order up to 1 month prior to your event date. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate changes to the design, please note that changes within 1 month of the event cannot always be guaranteed.
2. Changes to cake designs may be subject to an additional cost. This will be discussed with you when making the changes. We reserve the right to increase a quoted price in the event you request a variation to the work agreed.
3. All changes must be agreed to in writing.

6.  Shelf Life

1. We recommend our cakes be eaten within 3 days of the event for them to be enjoyed at their best.
2. Left over cake can be frozen up to one month.

8. Cancellations
All requests for cancellation must be confirmed in writing by email.

1. Requests for cancellation must be made no later than four weeks prior to the originally agreed cake collection date.
2. The 50% booking fee will not be refunded.
3. Any cancellations made up to 7 days before collection will require full payment.
4. On rare occasions The Bakery may need to cancel an order due to circumstances beyond our control. In this case, as much notice as possible of the cancellation will be given and any monies paid including booking fees will be refunded.

1. 9. Complaints

In the unlikely event there is an issue with your cake, it must be brought to our attention within 48 hours of the cake being collected so we can be given the opportunity to assess the nature of the problem. We would take any complaints very seriously. 

1. If the complaint is regarding the quality of the cake, we will ask for the cake or the remainder of the cake to be returned to use within 48 hours of delivery for inspection.
2. If the complaint is regarding the design of the cake, but the cake was made according to the booking form or design sketch which has been checked and approved, we cannot be held responsible for any errors not picked up by the customer.
   For any complaints we can only deal with the person who booked the cake originally.
